About Us
YOUR CHILD IS IN GREAT HANDS
Philosophy
The Nest has been a dream for over a decade. The idea of a space for infants and toddlers to have a home away from home that parents and caregivers can trust and feel safe leaving their little ones is something the island deserves. Working families and families that are growing are what fueled the vision of The Nest. We believe that every family should have the opportunity to make a decision on if/when they would like their children to enter a child care center, whether they are newborn or 2 years old, whether you're working or taking time to yourself, the choices should be available. We also strive to create connections, we want caregivers to feel they have support in any stage of parenting. Creating connections and support will be beneficial to your child for years to come.
Health & Safety
The Nest is licensed by the State of Washington Department of Youth, Children and Families. The Nest will maintain the highest standards of cleanliness for a healthy environment. Washington State Licensors visit the site annually to make sure that all health and safety requirements are met.
Our staff make every effort to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the children so that a minimum of absences occur due to illness. Health habits taught at home are reinforced at the center including frequent hand washing, especially before meals and after restroom use, proper use of tissues for wiping noses and ensuring children are getting fresh air and enough rest to continually be healthy.
All of our staff members hold current CPR/First Aid certifications and undergo regular training to maintain the health and safety standards of our program. All staff members and classroom volunteers are further required to obtain TB clearance, and HIV/AIDS & Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness and Prevention training.
